Cvlt Nation is streaming the self-titled debut from blackened metal/punk practitioners SKELETON in its searing entirety. The premiere comes in advance of the record’s official release Friday, July 10th via 20 Buck Spin.

Easily the most vicious and intelligent dark punk/metal hybrid in years, the eleven tracks comprising Skeleton signal the black dawn of a new breed; war-like hymns for the soldiers of a scorched apocalypse to come, from which a bleak alternate future will emerge.

Cvlt Nation crowns record, “a fucking underground classic,” adding, “It’s a punk album as much as it’s a metal album and it’s unrelenting on so many levels! Imagine if Motörhead bred with Bolt Thrower – their offspring might sound like SKELETON’s powerful fury…”

Skeleton was recorded and mixed by Chico Jones at Estuary Recording Facility, produced by SKELETON and Jones, and mastered by Sasha Stroud at Artifact Audio NYC with artwork by Jeremy Cook, layout by Ian Graham, and photography by Mark Garcia and John Byrnes.

20 Buck Spin will release Skeleton on LP, CD, cassette, and digital platforms. Find physical preorders at THIS LOCATION. For digital orders, visit  the 20 Buck Spin Bandcamp page HERE.

Having plied their black-market trade for several years in grime infested underground dungeons and sub-basements, SKELETON’s first LP is a cataclysmic expansion of the band’s unhallowed vision venturing well beyond its earlier borders. Though some might be prone to lazily apply simplistic genre tags to SKELETON’s style, the reality is far more sweeping. Fans of Venom, Bathory, early Mayhem, Discharge, Anti Cimex, Amebix, Raspberry Bulbs, G.I.S.M., Nightfell, and all those who follow the Austin Texas punk/metal scenes, pay heed.

“…SKELETON have been stacking a tidy heap of hardcore under their metallic pivot since 2014. This full-length debut summarily advances the gathering movement’s mob mentality. Eleven songs in twenty-eight minutes, SKELETON slams a thick muscular Integrity. Once the percussive slapdown thrash of ‘Mark Of Death’ gallops into the pit, Victor and David Ziolkowski are off to the races (with bassist Cody Combs). Grunge prodigies in ATX skate natives Residual Kid, the two brothers find a whole other stride in their quick convert side hustle.” — Decibel
SKELETON‘s debut places punk’s bite and black metal’s spite front and center – and if you’re aching for genuinely malevolent metalpunk, SKELETON more than deliver. The band’s negative noise certainly isn’t championing hope and kindness. However, like a lot of volatile music, SKELETON‘s scorched-earth approach delivers much-needed catharsis. You know the deal: maximum volume yields maximum results. Here’s your soundtrack to a world in flames. Here’s your end-times tonic, brewed extra strong, and extra fucking mean.” — Last Rites
“…a violent and impactful assault of blackened noise. It’s just that you might find it that little more listenable.” — GBHBL.com

“…gruff metal music with a punk attitude and a flare for the menacing.” — Flying Fiddlesticks

SKELETON‘s debut is one hell of a fun burst of black metal, thrash, and punk that flies by so fast, you won’t know what the hell hit you. It’s twenty-eight minutes of madness that get your juices flowing, blacken your eyes, and make you appreciate the punishment. This is as fitting a time as any for music that just kicks your ass and lets you have a violent good time, and SKELETON more than delivers.” — Meat Mead Metal

“Indescribable, eclectic, and unholy, the debut album from Austin, Texas’ SKELETON is a an equally riotous and raucous affair filled with larger-than-life Slayer-style riffage underneath of black metal viciousness.” — Rock And Roll Fables
