THEOLOGIAN And LAMENT CITYSCAPE Premiere “Inevitability” From Soft Tissue Album Via Decibel Magazine

The first single from LAMENT CITYSCAPE and THEOLOGIAN‘s collaborative Soft Tissue full-length, “Inevitability” has been made available through an exclusive stream at Decibel Magazine.

Soft Tissue is a collaborative album conceived by brooding Oakland-based “larva rock” project LAMENT CITYSCAPE, and New York “blackened synth-death” act THEOLOGIAN, compositing industrial degeneracy and post-metal heft to create a thoroughly oppressive, and immersive, sonic experience. The album was produced and mixed by Mike McClatchey at Underland Studios, with supplemental production by Lee Bartow at Abandon All Hope, and mastered by James Plotkin.

Issues Decibel Magazine alongside the track premiere, “‘Inevitability’ opens quietly but builds quickly into a hectic charge. Echoing vocals and bombastic drumming add to the consuming walls of noise before everything returns to quiet.”

Stream it now at THIS LOCATION.

Recorded between Autumn 2015 and Spring 2016, Soft Tissue is an effort initiated by David Brenner (Gridfailure, The Earsplit Compound) and David Rodgers (Godhunter, Battleground Records), spearheaded by Mike McClatchey of LAMENT CITYSCAPE and THEOLOGIAN‘s Lee Bartow, and features input from past and present members of each project. Underscored by a seamless integration of the best qualities of both groups, bowel-wracking percussive attacks, brutally heavy riffs, and boundless drones are juxtaposed with guttural, apocalyptic, howls from the deepest abysses of psychological anguish on Soft Tissue. Towering portent of calamities awaiting humanity as a whole, obsessively examining the fragility not just of our bodies, but of the subjective moralities which define our civilization as well. Drawing comparisons to everything from Nine Inch Nails and Rob Zombie to Neurosis, Soft Tissue is very likely to appeal to a broad range of heavy music fans.

Soft Tissue will see co-release through Battleground Records and Annihilvs Power Electronix on October 21st; preorders are available HERE.

THEOLOGIAN and LAMENT CITYSCAPE will perform material from Soft Tissue at this year’s Southwest Terror Fest, coinciding with the album’s release. The collective will play alongside the likes of Sumac, The Body/Full Of Hell, Kowloon Walled City, Generation Of Vipers, North, Via Vengeance, and others the opening night of the four-day gathering, next Thursday, October 20th.
