As New York’s continually morphing dark industrial entity, THEOLOGIAN, is set to unleash its A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real album in August. In preparation, the first public lashing of the LP’s madness has been issued through an exclusive Noisey stream of “God Comes As A Wall,” as preorders for the LP are made available and the outfit announces upcoming live performances.

A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real‘s opening track, “God Comes As A Wall,” is now rupturing the airwaves through Vice Magazine’s music channel, Noisey, As always orchestrated by THEOLOGIAN founder and sole full-time member, Lee Bartow (a.k.a. Theologian Prime) — here executing synth, vocal loops and mixing/editing, “God Comes As A Wall” also features the damaging infiltrations of David Castillo (Primitive Weapons, White Widows Pact) supplying vocals and synth, with all engineering and additional synth contributions by Kevin Reilly (Love Is Nothing, Navicon Torture Technologies). States Noisey alongside the nearly seven-minute voyage into electronic purgatory, “Theologian’s dark industrial pedigree is impeccable… A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real, is a nightmarish affront of torturous industrial rhythms and suffocating drones…”

A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real further extends the immense catalog of THEOLOGIAN recordings through labels including Crucial Blast, Handmade Birds, Malignant Records, the artist’s own Annihilvs Power Electronix and more even further into the darkest and most engulfing chasms. The latest tortured auditory from the soloist and collaborator, Lee M. Bartow (a.k.a. Theologian Prime), come in the form of four punishing sequences, nearly forty-five minutes of new material, created through Bartow’s collaborative explorations with David Castillo (Primitive Weapons, White Widows Pact) and Daniel Suffering (Whorid), with contributions from Matt Slagle and engineer Kevin D. Reilly, Jr., who has periodically worked with Bartow since the earliest incarnations of Navicon Torture Technologies in the mid-late 1990s. Tortured screams reach out over the tumbling industrial workings below. Low register whispered meanderings slowly rise to meet those screams. Machines’ rhythmic drones fold in on the voices. Sirens invite and warn. Sink into the synthetic abyss.
