FULL SCALE RIOT Issues Video For “Betrayus” Via New Noise Magazine; Band Prepares For Follow-Up To Depopulation Debut

New York City-area hardcore quartet, FULL SCALE RIOT, has just released an official video hailing from their debut EP, Depopulation, created for the record’s third track, “Betrayus,” broadcasting the band’s groove-heavy, metallic, hardcore fury.

Shot and edited by Mike “Diggy” Murphy (Ill-Roc Records), the “Betrayus” video cuts politically-charged themes that reside in the band’s tunes with performance footage in an energetic explosion. Issues FULL SCALE RIOT on the band’s inspiration for the initial song as well as its new visual accompaniment, “The song title ‘Betrayus’ is a riff on the General Petraeus scandal in name only. ‘Betrayus’ is about friendship and loyalty, or the illusion of. It’s the ugly side of allowing yourself to be vulnerable. This song is a slight departure from the rest of the politically driven songs on the EP, although the same sentiment can be applied to our elected officials; that’s why you can see labor movement images as well as other political themes throughout the video.”

FULL SCALE RIOT’s Depopulation EP is streaming in its entirety via BandCamp HERE, and the live video for “War” playing HERE.

With their diversified, punk-infused twist on groove-strewn New York Hardcore, FULL SCALE RIOT unites original M.O.D. guitarist Tim McMurtie, vocalist BJ Allen, drummer Evan Rossiter, and bassist Jeff Wood (Shat, Murder League All-Star, ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan live, ex-M.O.D.). The outfit approaches society’s systematic problems with a riotous lyrical standpoint, inciting forward-thinking activism versus senseless sheep mentality or senseless violence, merging elements of ’90s NYHC icons Burn, Maximum Penalty, Inside Out, Orange 9mm and the like into the band’s foundation. Depopulation was recorded and mastered at Trax East during the brutal 2015 Winter – mixed by TSP and Eric Rachel, and engineered by Eric Rachel and Eric Kvortek – and unloading six point-blank anthems, sets a new bar for FULL SCALE RIOT, and their deluge of aggression aimed at unity through uprising.

Following the release of Depopulation, FULL SCALE RIOT has been inundating the Northeastern states with live shows, including supporting Michaele Graves (ex-Misfits), The Murder Junkies (GG Allin’s band) and many others over recent weeks. While the live shows have been slowing down as the band focuses on writing new material, they’ll continue to perform throughout the NYC area sporadically over the coming months. FSR will enter the studio again in the coming months to record the follow-up to Depopulation. Stand by for more info in the near future.
