SIX FEET UNDER: New Album From Legendary Death Metal Unit Streaming In Its Entirety At High Times + “Open Coffin Orgy” Video Unearthed

Legendary death metal unit, SIX FEET UNDER, dropped the infernal bounty of their Crypt Of The Devil full-length upon North America yesterday via Metal Blade Records. Composed by renowned growl monarch, Chris Barnes with Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil “Landphil” Hall, Crypt Of The Devil serves as the band’s eleventh studio offering and dishes up ten diseased slabs of unfettered death metal barbarity ornamented in Barnes’ haunting prose. Surveying the darkest, most abysmal depths of the human condition, the record is alarming in both sound, mind and spirit.

Already reaping critical exaltation, Metal Injection calls Crypt Of The Devil, “absolutely fantastic,” and, “one of the best in their entire discography.” Exclaim concurs in an 8/10 rating crowning Crypt Of The Devil, “a natural evolution from Unborn, while also evoking a sense of rejuvenation,” while KNAC.com boasts in a near-perfect 4.5/5 score, “Crypt Of The Devil is full of brutal vocals, some of the best guitar work you’ll find in the death metal genre, and killer percussion,” furthering, “If you’re a fan of death metal and you’ve never heard SIX FEET UNDER before, then you don’t know death metal.” Adds Wicked Channel in a 9/10 review, “If they open a Death Metal Hall of Fame, Chris Barnes should have a wing… another classic.”

In celebration of its release, today the greens keepers at High Times bring fans Crypt Of The Devil in its delightfully savage entirety alongside Barnes’ top five cannabis strains.

And is if that wasn’t enough to whet your palette of brutality, today SIX FEET UNDER spews forth the video companion to second track, “Open Coffin Orgy.” Directed by Mitch Massie (Cattle Decapitation, Murder Construct, The Locust etc.), the latest clip delves deep into the band’s casket of chaos with visuals that are at once gruesome, murderous and beguiling. SIX FEET UNDER began as a side project while Barnes – owner of what would become one of the most dominating, groundbreaking and instantly distinguishable voices of the death metal genre – was fronting Cannibal Corpse. SIX FEET UNDER would eventually become a full-fledged entity in 1995 and now stands among the longest standing and successful acts in death metal history, with all but their debut appearing on a Billboard chart.

Crypt Of The Devil is out now on Metal Blade Records. Various order bundles are available today at metalblade.com/sixfeetunder.
