Sacrificial was produced by founding vocalist Nathan Opposition, engineered by Travis Bonner at The Diamond Factory Studios in Austin, mastered by Paul Logus (Anthrax, Clutch, Hellyeah, Shadows Fall et al) at Taloowa Mastering, and finds the occult death rock perpetrators at their most eloquent conjuring dark, penetrating neofolkian psalms of unholiness that are at once melodic, catchy and maniacally addictive.
Today Vice’s music portal Noisey brings forth the band’s official new video for “The Devil’s Work,” a cryptic and shadowy clip that fittingly centers itself on a Satanic ritual, as well as an in-depth interview with Opposition by Cleveland’s foremost practitioner of modern Satanism, Eric Freeman.
Elaborates Noisey, “…it’s an awfully small world when you’re down with the Devil. [Eric] Freeman is a close friend of Texas death rock outfit ANCIENT VVISDOM‘s vocalist. The pair first became friends during VVISDOM‘s tenure as the drummer of Integrity, and kept in touch as he began anew with ANCIENT VVISDOM. Recently, the two sat down to discuss their mutual Satanic beliefs, and recorded the conversation for posterity. The half hour-long chat takes place in a room lit only by candles, while our subjects wear black, of course, and amongst other things, talk about the positive effect Satan has had on their lives.”
