ANCIENT VVISDOM: “The Devil’s Work” Video Clip + Interview By Cleveland’s Foremost Practitioner Of Modern Satanism Now Playing At Noisey

ANCIENT VVISDOM unleashed their long-awaited Sacrificial long player last week via Magic Bullet Records. Crowned a, vital, unflinching work reflective of their passions and beliefs,” by Hellride Music,

Sacrificial was produced by founding vocalist Nathan Opposition, engineered by Travis Bonner at The Diamond Factory Studios in Austin, mastered by Paul Logus (Anthrax, Clutch, Hellyeah, Shadows Fall et al) at Taloowa Mastering, and finds the occult death rock perpetrators at their most eloquent conjuring dark, penetrating neofolkian psalms of unholiness that are at once melodic, catchy and maniacally addictive.

Today Vice’s music portal Noisey brings forth the band’s official new video for “The Devil’s Work,” a cryptic and shadowy clip that fittingly centers itself on a Satanic ritual, as well as an in-depth interview with Opposition by Cleveland’s foremost practitioner of modern Satanism, Eric Freeman.

Elaborates Noisey, “…it’s an awfully small world when you’re down with the Devil. [Eric] Freeman is a close friend of Texas death rock outfit ANCIENT VVISDOM‘s vocalist. The pair first became friends during VVISDOM‘s tenure as the drummer of Integrity, and kept in touch as he began anew with ANCIENT VVISDOM. Recently, the two sat down to discuss their mutual Satanic beliefs, and recorded the conversation for posterity. The half hour-long chat takes place in a room lit only by candles, while our subjects wear black, of course, and amongst other things, talk about the positive effect Satan has had on their lives.”

“ANCIENT VVISDOM have crafted a record of urgent and immediate rock songs that are shrouded in darkness that illuminates the night.” – Crown Of Viserys

“A fantastic effort that perfectly straddles the line between melody and heaviness…” – Metal Underground

“Both enticing and enchanting Sacrificial captures the listener with its satisfying mixture of heaviness and melody. While the sound has certainly taken a stronger step towards the most traditional occult metal style, this record has proved it is certainly not a bad move from the band. With strong riffs, a great mix and catchy vocal melodies, Sacrificial would have the Devil himself tapping away to the odd track.” – Ghost Cult

“This is a revolutionary step for ANCIENT VVISDOM, and a welcome one for their metal-loving listeners. Added to the sturdy little melodies they featured in previous albums is a newfound heaviness to hammer them home into the ear, entirely free of classic-rock pretensions that make certain other modern occult rock bands noisome after a while. Sacrificial is a very easy album to love, whether one leans toward metal or just hard rock, and deserves a listen by either kind of fan.” – Metal Reviews
