New York experimental death metal strategists, PYRRHON, today unveil the official video for “Sleeper Agent.” The seizure-inducing new clip was directed by David Hall (Brutal Truth, Fuck The Facts) and comes by way of the band’s Ryan Jones – (Mutilation Rites) produced The Mother Of Virtues full-length, released via Relapse Records earlier this year.

The sleeper agent’s spying on you at MetalSucks. Check it out HERE.

And if you missed it, the quartet recently unleashed a play-through video for the track “Balkanized” via Gear Gods at THIS LOCATION.

PYRRHON‘s The Mother Of Virtues take its listeners on a traumatic sonic voyage into the darkest portals of musical severity with a mind-altering synthesis of clanging death, dark jazz rhythms, twisted storytelling and subtle shades of otherworldly psychedelia. HeavyBlogIsHeavy calls the record, “delightfully off-kilter and forever twisting,” Pitchfork dubs it, “…interesting and audacious…” while Noisey elaborates, “NYC’s PYRRHON sits alone in the fold between a pair of local giants, Unsane and Suffocation. The band clearly leans on its nerdier than thou technical death metal approach to provide the backbone of what they do, but for some of the breakdowns and parts that surround the fretboard wizardry is a devotion to the noisy, misanthropy found on records by Today Is The Day and most of the early Am-Rep roster. It’s a mix of intelligent hatred that could only come from the five boroughs…” Adds Sputnik in a perfect 4/4 score, “Virtues‘ greatest success is it’s unwillingness to play by the rules… It’s an album built off the backs of Gorguts and Converge but with legs spastically moving in directions akin to and opposite of those bearers. The replay value feels astronomical as identifying even the simplest of riffs feels like open heart surgery with the tension to match, but it’s that itch to keep digging, to hear more through the layers of feedback and bellowed growls that one finds rewards with the reaping.”
