HOD: New Hell Hymn From San Antonio Blackened Death Legion Now Playing At Revolver; Band Prepares For Live Takeovers

In less than one month, San Antonio blackened death legion, HOD, will unleash all out Hell with their long-awaited forthcoming new full-length, Book Of The Worm.

Produced by Dennis Munoz (Solstice), Book Of The Worm features the recording lineup of guitarist Necron, vocalist Vladibeer Reebs, bassist T.A. and former drummer Dennis Sanders and boasts eight infernal odes of filth, decadence and global suffering with artwork by the masterful Jon Zig (Averse Sefira, Deeds of Flesh, Pyrexia). In preparation of its impending infiltration, today Revolver Magazine spews forth “Where Are The Demons.”

Relays the band of the newest psalm of iniquity, “Where are the Demons? Metal is losing its fangs. Becoming too safe. Only in the underground does true metal run wild. While posers and safe bands sit at the top on a false throne, we will show where the true Demons are. View into the abyss and we will stare back at you!”

As a precursor to the record’s official decent, HOD will spread their sonic plague throughout their home state with a handful of live abrasions with additional takeovers to be announced in the coming weeks.

Through a steady diet of live assaults and a steadfast DIY ethic, HOD has become an underground institution of sorts reaping the acclaim of fans and critics globally for the fuck-all brand of sonic debauchery. Last Rites commends HOD‘s ultimately “lethal attack,” and “full-on badassery,” further championing their “commanding, ugly fucking blackened death slabs punctuated with micro-rending buzzsaw leads,” while No Clean Singing applauds their “thrashing charge of hybridized black and death metal that’s as dynamic and technically impressive as it is primally appealing.” Elsewhere, Sea Of Tranquility agrees, “the band pummels the listener with straight ahead death metal insanity,” while Dead Rhetoric laud’s their terminally apocalyptic brand of “prime American death metal, with the right amount of space between tech-y and brutal.”

Book Of The Worm will be unleashed on September 9th, 2014 via Arctic Music. Preorder your copy today at THIS LOCATION.

“…death metal for people who want the blood and guts of the sound, rather than the glossy veneer that the larger labels have perpetrated since Roadrunner liquidated their original roster. No frills is good frills when it comes to this kind of work, and HOD makes up for it with brawler bravado that demands respect. The Texas metal underground continues to maintain a bullpen of enduring, credible acts, and Book Of The Worm is another nasty weapon in its arsenal.” – The Examiner

“There is no softness on this album, no moments of respite from the chaotic blackness and brutal assault. This is not a band who want to be your friends or play nice. This is music purely designed to destroy and worship the foul Gods of the Metal underworld, wherever they dwell.” – Wonderbox Metal
