SKELETONWITCH: Latest Studio Video Includes Two New Song Samples; Band Gives Away Signed Blackstar Guitar Amp

With the October 29th release of new album Serpents Unleashed just around the corner, blackened metal conjurers, SKELETONWITCH, have unveiled the fourth in a series of behind-the-scenes studio videos. In this edition, drummer Dustin Boltjes and guitarist Nate Garnette discuss some of their favorite songs from the album, including two tracks — “Beneath Dead Leaves” and “This Evil Embrace” — that, until now, have yet to be heard publicly. Check out samples of those two songs now at THIS LOCATION.

In related SKELETONWITCH news, $100 record store shopping sprees aren’t the only Serpents Unleashed giveaways taking place right now, as the group has teamed with Blackstar Amplification to host a contest for a signed ID:15 guitar amplifier. Visit GuitarWorld.com for more information.
Serpents Unleashed, which Decibel hails as SKELETONWITCH‘s “best effort to date,” is available now for preorder at SKELETONWITCH.com in a variety of formats, including limited-edition clear vinyl (which includes a poster featuring the album’s artwork by Baroness’ John Baizley), a 7-inch collector’s box set and audio cassette. Meanwhile, digital preorders for the album at Bandcamp and iTunes include an instant download of the song “I Am Of Death (Hell Has Arrived),” the vintage horror movie-themed music video for which premiered last month.

Having just completed a second round of dates supporting Swedish occult rockers Ghost B.C., SKELETONWITCH will perform a record release show in their hometown of Athens, Ohio on October 23rd. The following night, the band will kick off an extensive North American live takeover with The Black Dahlia Murder. “All of the incredible essential elements of SKELETONWITCH are present: mad-gallop rabid-horse guitars? Check. 1920s madman submachine gun drumming? Check. Chance Garnette’s bug-eyed, leather-larynx, rock-gargling vocals? Triple check. Stop-on-a-dime time-signature change-ups? You know it. God bless these maniacs – they’ve done it again.” – Emusic

“…the defining moment for the band, the most assured record in their catalog…” – No Clean Singing

“Serpents Unleashed is another great dose of blackened thrash with a hint of old-school metal energy…” – Lambgoat

“…irrefutable proof that SKELETONWITCH is the kind of band that we can trust even with our eyes closed… their best record to date.” – Ghost Cult

“The solid production, tightened instrumentals, and effective songwriting are the elements that elevate this opus to one of the top albums of 2013.” – Metalholic

“…the band is more evil than ever and have returned with a creative, inspired, brutal and soul crushingly evil vengeance. Should you still be worshiping The Witch? Two words… fuck yes.” – Volumes of Sin
