Following several months off the grid, this week Seattle deathsquad THEORIES confirms a heavy load of Summer actions including a Nortwestern tour with Early Graves as well as the recording of their debut full-length and more.
After several months of recovery time for THEORIES’ Rick Powell, after the vocalist was shot in the chest several times in a failed armed robbery attempt and shootout with the thug in April, the death metal/grindcore quartet is fully back in action. First up, the band have just entered Red Room Studios to record their debut full-length, to be released by a label to be decided in the coming weeks, and an additional 7” with Derek Moree, the works to be mixed and mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer/Agoraphobic Nosebleed). More info on both releases will be confirmed and announced in the coming weeks.
Having recently been picked-up by Andy Rice of Outliers Talent Agency, THEORIES will tour more than ever over the coming months as the new album makes its way into the population. In less than three weeks, they’ll take part in the four-day Northwestern Black Circle 5 in Portland, the fest including sets from Poison Idea, Coven, VON, Toxic Holocaust, Satan’s Host and countless more, with THEORIES playing Saturday, August 10th alongside Drawn & Quartered, Gravehill, Ghoul and others. Just behind that they’ll hit the Northwest on a mini-tour supporting Early Graves, with both bands to tear through Seattle, Portland and Spokane late in August. Expect more tour dates soon.
Drummer Joe Axler (also of Samothrace, Skarp, etc.) was recently added to the SickDrummer team, who posted an in-depth feature as well as live carnage of Axler reducing his set to rubble with a live video of THEORIES ripping track “Abortive Crescent” RIGHT HERE.
