THE DEVIL’S BLOOD Comment On Upcoming Decibel Magazine Tour

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Dutch occult rockers THE DEVIL’S BLOOD are gearing up for a near month-long run of North American dates on the forthcoming Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, Watain and In Solitude. The band will be touring in support of The Thousandfold Epicentre, released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records.

Comments founder and band leader SL: “THE DEVIL’S BLOOD are proud and extremely eager to travel the New World alongside some of the world’s most dedicated metal bands. Dedicated not to some pathetic notion of ‘scene’ or ‘unity’ but to a clear, totally individual, spiritual path that although not understood by most is perhaps the most valid and urgent one available for wandering feet to travel in the twilight of the Iron Age. We share many opinions and disagree on many more, yet our offerings all speak of that great mystery which we all aspire to with passion and fury. Praise be to all those who accompany us on this particular path.”

In related news, the cover of the May 2012 issue of Decibel Magazine is devoted to the tour and offers up in-depth coverage on all four bands. For ordering info, go to THIS LOCATION.

THE DEVIL’S BLOOD is a dedication to principles and principals more ancient than Time, a branch of a tree greater than the World, an exclamation of both the profound and the profane. THE DEVIL’S BLOOD has always been one of the many vessels through which the Light of the Devil shines upon the darkness of the world and shall always be the possible entrance to a path walked alone. But only for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. This path starts not in understanding but in confusion.

NATE HALL: Exclusive Track Premiere Hosted By Cvlt Nation

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Today Cvlt Nation is hosting an exclusive track premiere of “The Earth In One Cell” from USX mastermind NATE HALL. Following several lauded LPs released under the Neurot Recordings banner, this May the founding USX vocalist/guitarist, will release his first solo full-length entitled A Great River.

Comments Hall on the track: “’The Earth In One Cell’ has been kicking around in my brain for years before I got it right and ready to record. In a way, it was a catalyst for the whole album, because once I got it done the rest followed quickly. I used a capo on the twelfth fret of my electric guitar to get the chimey string sound. It was a natural song to start the record.”

Check out “The Earth In One Cell,” the opening track to the record, at THIS LOCATION.

Set for European release on May 7 and in North America on May 8, A Great River, which popular rock/doom portal The Obelisk crowns a “…beautiful and lush work of a songwriter beginning what will hopefully be a long journey,” offers up a lush landscape of pastoral richness. Recorded in March 2011 by Travis Kammeyer at Fahrenheit Studio in Johnson City, Tennessee, the work draws from the lush musical history of America, the melancholy of Appalachia, and harnesses the “electric vacuum roar” of guitar slingers past and present.!/USX.APPALACHIA

FEAR FACTORY: The Industrialist Artwork And Track Listing Revealed

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

FEAR FACTORY today reveals cover and package details for their forthcoming new album, The Industrialist. Set for North American release on June 5, The Industrialist is a conceptual record based around a story written by vocalist Burton C. Bell. Lyrics to the album’s ten songs divulge the narrative as discussed recently by Bell with Decibel Magazine. The album’s artwork was created by American designer Anthony Clarkson with additional direction from the band. The album will be available on three formats – standard CD, a limited edition deluxe digi-book (featuring two additional songs), and 180-gram double vinyl.

Bell notes, “the protagonist (The Industrialist) is the incarnation of all industries in the form of an automaton. The mechanical, technological, and scientific advances through the industrial age led to the creation of The Industrialist. In the story, the automaton becomes sentient as it collects memories with each passing day. Through observation and learning, it gains the will to exist. What was meant to help man, will eventually be man’s demise.”

The Industrialist again pairs FEAR FACTORY with producer Rhys Fulber. Mixed by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost/Skinny Puppy/Machine Head), with additional tracking by Logan Mader (Gojira/Divine Heresy), the album is the second written by Bell and guitarist Dino Cazares since reuniting in 2009 after a seven year split. Cazares says, “collaborating with Burton again on the new album was like magic. Everything just fell into place naturally. It felt good to recapture the true sound of FEAR FACTORY, taking it back to where it all started while raising it to new levels.” Regarding Fulber Cazares notes, “Rhys has been our secret member,” shares Cazares. “He is the one producer who has been able to understand what we have been trying to accomplish from the beginning and has opened our eyes to new things without sacrificing our original sound. His production and keyboard talents has made FEAR FACTORY stand out amongst the many bands of our genre.”

The Industrialist follows the 2010 release of Mechanize. Widely regarded, the album was the first release from FEAR FACTORY in six years. Mechanize debuted on Billboard’s Top 100 album chart week of release and topped CMJ’s Loud Rock radio chart as programmers embraced the band’s triumphant return. Sirus XM and Headbangers Ball’s host Jose Mangin noted, “after Mechanize dominated 2010 as Liquid Metal’s Album Of The Year, North America is chompin’ at the bit to get an ear full of new FEAR FACTORY. I have no doubt that FEAR FACTORY are going to kick our collective asses in 2012.”

The Industrialist Track Listing:
1. The Industrialist
2. Recharger
3. New Messiah
4. God Eater
5. Depraved Mind Murder

CATTLE DECAPITATION: New In-Studio Video Clip Revealed

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Today California progressive grind conquerors CATTLE DECAPITATION reveal the first of three in-studio video segments from their Monolith Of Inhumanity recording sessions. Set for North American release on May 8, 2012, the record was produced by Dave Otero of Denver’s Flatline Audio and sees the band exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage and self-loathing lyrical content.

Check out Dave McGraw’s drum demolition and behind-the-scenes studio footage as well as first single “A Living, Breathing Piece Of Defecating Meat,” at THIS LOCATION.

Monolith Of Inhumanity is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible to aptly categorize records you will hear in 2012. Dragging their ever-evolving deathgrind sound kicking and screaming into the epic territory inhabited by the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Anaal Nathrakh, the quartet redefine all perceptions of what CATTLE DECAPITATION is. With their seventh full-length, the band have never sounded more focused, aggressive, or manically determined to get in the faces of those who erroneously believe they’ve already experienced the band at their extreme best.

The 11-track Monolith Of Inhumanity features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on “Projectile Ovulation”), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on “A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat”), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men’s Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on “The Carbon Stampede”), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles’ most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese, as well as another strikingly brutal cover by Wes Benscoter.

In addition, CATTLE DECAPITATION collaborated with famed pop culture artist Tom Bunk, best known for his work for the 1980s Garbage Pail Kids trading cards and MAD Magazine, for a very special art project. Bunk was gracious enough to create individual pieces of art for each member of the band, heavily influenced by and practically just as they appeared in the Garbage Pail Kids series of the ‘80s! A GPK-inspired CATTLE DECAPITATION trading card set and T-shirts are included with special limited pre-order packages and collector’s bundles. More info available HERE.

CATTLE DECAPITATION recently returned from the successful Reborn of Death European Tour with Suffocation, Blood Red Throne, Cerebral Bore, Adimiron, Sadist and Ulvedharr and will take a short break before heading out on the Occupation Domination 2012 with Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings Of Saturn, Battlecross and more!

ACROSS TUNDRAS‘ Neurot Recordings debut, Sage, was released in May 2011, capturing the band’s heritage perfectly, through an amalgam of haunting doom-tinged Americana, melding echoes of traditional country blues and psychedelic sludge. Their organic sound is well-honed, marking it as their most fully realized album to date with all of their influences and elements flowing cohesively.

“They may be one of the hardest working bands in metal” – Blistering

“When Across Tundras tell their grim, frostbitten tales of the frontier, they strike harvest gold.” – Decibel

“…like a cross between Earth’s Americana turn, recent Swans, and Kansas’ Samothrace.” – Signal To Noise

“This band and this album will help define the coming musical decade and, when the smoke has cleared, will emerge as true survivors, cosmic warriors, innovators in the cause of heaviness.” – Pop Matters

“…Across Tundras has shown a penchant for pacing — when you’re drawing influence for soundtrack music, it’s necessary if you want to keep the listeners in for the long haul…” – Outburn

“A prairie-sized slab of sludgy Americana… Sage dodges just about ever pigeonhole you could hope to stick it in.” – A.V. Club/The Onion

“Across Tundras’ roots lie in swampy and twangy Americana and dip into high-volume psychedelic riffery…” – Brooklyn Vegan

“…the power to create these calm soundscapes that can become these psychedelic storms of rad sludge.” – Cvlt Nation

“A rustic beauty binds these songs.” –

THE BODY & BRAVEYOUNG: Collaborative Album To See Vinyl Release

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Following an initial CD release in September 2011, amidst several regional tours together, Nothing Passes — the collaborative release between apocalyptic noise/doom duo THE BODY and orchestral rock harbingers BRAVEYOUNG — will now get the deluxe vinyl treatment.

Recorded in a collaborative session at Providence’s Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars), Nothing Passes is a layered but cohesive voyage through cavernous, noise-laden tumult and chaos, ethereal horror-soundtrack creepouts and even serene acoustic passages, exploring new styles for both acts. The album features vocal contributions from members of The Assembly Of Light Choir who have collaborated live with THE BODY and BRAVEYOUNG, as well as a cover of Exuma’s song, The Vision.

Set for release via At A Loss Recordings, the label responsible for releasing the initial CD version, the LP version of Nothing Passes will be available to the public on April 24th. The black vinyl pressing is housed in a high-quality chipboard cover with an uncoated heavyweight insert. Preorders can now be placed RIGHT HERE.

Additionally, The Assembly Of Light Choir — who appear on Nothing Passes, in addition to playing a major role in THE BODY’s groundbreaking 2010-released All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood LP — are preparing to release a new album this May. The ensemble have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project AT THIS LOCATION.

DEMISOR: Singaporean Grind Brigade Sign To Pulverised Records; New Track Stream Available

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Singaporean grind pioneers DEMISOR have officially inked a worldwide deal with Pulverised Records! Formed in 1987, the unsung DEMISOR specialize in sonic devastation with their earliest bout of buzzsaw guitar lashes and maniacal blasts appearing on their Mestectomy and Oral Climax demos released in 1990 and 1992 respectively. Today the epic DEMISOR discography includes over a dozen split releases in true grind fashion. The band is currently penning new material for the upcoming as-yet-untitled EP, which will be released later this year via Pulverised Records.

Commented DEMISOR in a collective statement: “It’s an honor to work with Pulverised as we do know of their professionalism towards the core of extreme music. Pulverised indeed gave us the privilege to blast out to the masses our kind of uber obliterating grindcore! The upcoming mini-album will pummel all aspects of grind holocaust that DEMISOR has ever churned out! Be warned!”

Added Pulverised Records A&R Manager Calvin Chiang commented: “It was no coincidence that DEMISOR came to be a part of the Pulverised roster; we’ve known the guys for years and have always shown a positive interest in releasing something for them but unfortunately, the time was never right as the other members in DEMISOR were heavily involved in their other bands. Towards the end of 2011, we received news that DEMISOR is now officially back in full force and with the new EP planned and as well as a short Euopean tour coming up, there is no other better time than now to solidify the DEMISOR/Pulverised alliance. DEMISOR 2012 will show how grind is properly done!”

Check out DEMISOR’s latest blistering promo track, “Theocracy Revile” at the Pulverised Records SoundCloud Page.

In related news, the band recently announced their inclusion on this year’s edition of the infamous Obscene Extreme Festival in Trutnov, Czech Republic. DEMISOR will share the stage with 69 bands including Exhumed, the reunited Nasum, Asphyx, Discharge, Poison Idea, Cephalic Carnage and many more. In conjunction with their stop at the fest, and in promotion of their upcoming EP, DEMISOR wil embark on a mini European tour. Further info to be announced soon.

SARCOFAGO’S Decade Of Decay was initially released in 1995, and official copies of it are virtually impossible to find anywhere… until now. This represents the first time that SARCOFAGO demo material is available officially. The entire reissue process for this compilation album has been overseen by SARCOFAGO’s Wagner “Antichrist” Lamounier himself!

The first release in a series of SARCOFAGO albums set for official reissue through 2012 and beyond, the first stateside release of Decade Of Decay will take place in North America on June 5th as a 6-panel/full color digipak CD imported directly from Brazil, featuring a full-color fold-out poster with information on all of the songs included.
