EXHUMED: Exclusive Live Download From Maryland Deathfest Courtesy Of NPR

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Goregrind legends EXHUMED played their first U.S. show in over six years at the 2011 edition of the Maryland Deathfest and thanks to NPR, the set — in all its uncensored glory — is available for your consumption at THIS LOCATION.

EXHUMED released their All Guts, No Glory full-length earlier this year via Relapse Records. The record continues to reap critical acclaim from fans and critics nationally and has left it’s grisly mark on multiple Year End lists including Decibel, Pitchfork,, MetalSucks and Skulls N Bones!

Said vocalist/guitarist menace Matt Harvey: “2011 has been a great year for the band. We’ve had a killer time scraping off the rust on the gore metal machine and getting back on the road and partying with necromaniacs all over the place. It’s amazing how many people have enjoyed our racket and have actually said nice things about our record — sometimes even in public! We have a lot of shit planned for next year and we’re chomping at the bit to continue subjecting the universe to more of our god awful noise! See you on the road…or at the bar. Play fast or die, dudes. Cheers!”

As previously announced, EXHUMED will be showering Brazil with their infernal live rituals this Winter with Aborted. This will mark the band’s first time ever in the country.

EXHUMED w/ Aborted
2/17/2012 Music Hall – Belo Horizonte, MG
2/18/2012 Hangar 110 – São Paulo, SP
2/19/2012 Hangar Bar – Curitiba, PR

“Everything seems more fluid and powerful, though as vicious as it all is, the focus remains on the composition and how it smacks the listener between the eyes.” — Decibel

EXHUMED are back, hungry, vicious, and unrelenting,” — Metal Underground

“… fans of dripping blood, gaping autopsies, and ravenous zombies will absolutely adore this record.” — Revolver

EXHUMED has aged like corpse putrefaction: that is indeed the highest compliment you can pay to one of 2011’s best records.” — Brave Words

“My only real bitch about All Guts, No Glory is that it blew the speakers in my truck. Worth it.” — Blabbermouth

” Each track flies right out of the gate, grabs you by the throat and does not even think about mercy.” — Stereokiller

EXHUMED has not only strongly persisted over the last 20 years, but has also managed to simultaneously keep their musical integrity and brutal, gore-filled lyrics fully intact.” — Abort

EXHUMED has written killer material that follows their established formula but throws enough changes into the mix to avoid feeling like a retread.” — Cosmos Gaming

“All Guts, No Glory is not only EXHUMED’s finest moment, but probably the best metal record of the year. If something better comes along, it will be from another planet.” — Music Emissions

MINISTRY Signs Worldwide Deal With AFM Records

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

AFM Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of industrial veterans MINISTRY, one of the most innovative and legendary bands of our time. AFM will release MINISTRY’s highly-anticipated comeback album Relapse in March. Prior to the album, MINISTRY will release a digital single, entitled “99%” on December 23rd, 2011 via the band’s iTunes store.

Currently, MINISTRY mastermind Al Jourgensen is finalizing the last mixes on the new material. Commented Jourgensen on the signing: “Our 13th Planet Record releases have been distributed in Europe via AFM through our partner Soulfood Music in Germany for several years now, and we have established a solid business relationship, so it made perfect sense to take the next step and have AFM Records come on board and be involved with the new Ministry release for worldwide and digital distribution. I’m pretty psyched about the collaboration, based on the response and enthusiasm I’ve received from AFM so far…”

Stay tuned for further info on the upcoming album, tour updates and more on MINISTRY heavily throughout 2012.

Commented multi instrumentalist Mhaghnuis of the maniacal production: “‘For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory’ is a visual and musical representation of the rebellious spirit making its presence known in the world today. The intention of the video is to instigate confrontational episodes between those who see themselves as ‘in authority’ and those who see themselves as ‘the peasants.’ Depending on your own social class, you may see this video as doing wrong, or you can see this video as doing right. But, what everyone can see is, WE ARE ALL SLAVES TO OUR OWN WANTS, DEATH IS FREEDOM! You either die vanquishing your foe, or live long enough to become what you hate.”

GOREAPHOBIA represents everything death metal should be. Their entire discography is possessed with old-school dirt that chomps like a hungry shark, and thankfully none of the group’s horrific habits were dropped during this excellent slab of maggot-infested death metal.” — Thrashpit
Chunks of this record sound as if Celtic Frost, before To Mega Therion and after Emperor’s Return, detoured into death metal. So, the spectrum ranges from raw d-beats to grand compositions.” — 8/10 Decibel
“Cohesive, unaffected and unrelentingly authentic.” — Rue Morgue
“…a natural progression for GOREAPHOBIA, that will appeal to anyone looking for something a little different to go along with their daily dose of death metal.” —
“You can definitely hear the Celtic Frost, Venom and Bathory influence at work here. Powerful mid to fast paced crushing riffs, the overall sound takes me back to the day’s when death metal was just starting out… GOREAPHOBIA has done it again, Apocalyptic Necromancy is some killer death metal.” — The Adversary
“For anybody who likes some good, dirty, grimy old school death metal, look no further than the newest release from Philly’s GOREAPHOBIA.” – Blistering

GLORIOR BELLI: Live Footage From Messe des Morts Festival Posted

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Last month, French black metal enigmas GLORIOR BELLI made their first ever North American appearance at Montreal’s Messe des Morts festival. The ceremony took place at Coop Katacombes on November 25 and 26 and included live rituals from some of black metal’s most esteemed creators.

Commented vocalist/guitarist Julien of the experience: “Thanks to [fest organizer] Martin [Marcotte; Sepulchral Productions] and the rest of the crew, we had the chance to play in front of an enthusiastic audience in Montréal for the first edition of Messe des Morts festival and share the stage with great local acts as well as international bands such as Absu, Inquisition and Angantyr. It sure does feel different than in Europe, for there is a definite hunger for our art and it’s an actual pleasure to bring the fire that we craft in good old Europe to the new continent and share it with the few, the extraordinary.”

GLORIOR BELLI released their fourth full-length, The Great Southern Darkness, earlier this Fall via Metal Blade Records which continues to reap critical adoration from fans and critics alike. Praised Decibel Magazine in an 8/10 review: “GB’s most excellent reputation of delivering mid-tempo, riff-tastic, evil-as-fuck metal has thankfully not been compromised on this fantastic and perfectly produced new disc.” gave the record a 4/5 rating saying: “The sound often parts, battles, becomes noise and then reunites, displaying a very sophisticated technique. The Great Southern Darkness is the fourth good album from a consistent and exciting band. It’s composed with both intelligence and guts, and comes highly recommended,” while Metal Underground gave the record a perfect 5/5 score noting: “Amazing mashup of southern blues and cold black metal.” opined: “…GLORIOR BELLI takes black metal to a new height on their new record with amazing riffs and a vast array of influences,” while added: “…great stuff that calls to mind the devilish side of the blues — you know, Robert Johnson at the crossroads and all that. Early factions in black metal may have tried to excise blues elements from their sound, a fact that makes The Great Southern Darkness feel like a long awaited reunion.”
