FEAR FACTORY Forced To Postpone Tour

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

FEAR FACTORY, who recently announced a short stretch of U.S. shows from December 29 – January 8, were forced to postpone those dates until April due to a family emergency. No further details are available at this time.

FEAR FACTORY — guitarist Dino Cazares, vocalist Burton C. Bell, bassist Byron Stroud and drummer Gene Hoglan — spent the greater part of 2010 touring in support of their critically-acclaimed Mechanize full-length released in February via Candlelight Records. Rescheduled dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

“…the greatest FEAR FACTORY full-length in more than a decade.” — Decibel

“The record marks a clear return to the classic FEAR FACTORY sound. The result rings familiar but also fresh; even in the very futuristic year of 2010.” — Revolver

“FEAR FACTORY 2010 is a fiery and evolved rebirth of the band that changed metal in the ’90s…Mechanize is the album I have been waiting for.” — Blabbermouth

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Continuing to devastate America one tour at a time, sludgemongers BUZZOV•EN today announce their third tour installment since reuniting early in the year. Hitting all new markets throughout the Southern and Southeastern US this time, the band will hit the old dusty trail again in early February with Virginia’s sludgesters Cough providing direct support. Confirmed appearances on this newly announced rampage are as follows:

2/16/2011 Casbah – Durham, NC w/ Cough

Check out the tour poster for the upcoming dates, as well as a newly filmed Superskum video interview and live footage from BUZZOV•EN’s recent December West Coast tour below.

As with BUZZOV•EN’s previous 2010 mini-tours in October and earlier this month, the band’s classic lineup from their At A Loss LP lineup of Kirk Fisher on guitar and vocals, “Dixie” Dave Collins (Weedeater, Bongzilla, etc.) on bass and vocals, and Ramzi Ateyeh (Sourvein) on drums, now also includes Sleepy Floyd (Sourvein) on second guitar.

Following their inception in 1990, BUZZOV•EN quickly created an impact on the metal scene with their harsh, raging style of sludge, cementing them as both a purveying act of the genre. After disbanding in 1999, the group revamped things and reformed in 2010, bringing their chaotic and caustic live rage back to the stage. BUZZOV•EN will appear at The Netherlands’ annual Roadburn Festival in April, as well as this year’s installment of the Maryland Death Fest in May, and will have much more news to announce throughout the new year.

KHORS: New Track Stream Available Via Noisecreep

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

AOL Noisecreep is currently streaming “Sacrament Of Buyan,” the eighth  track from KHORS‘ latest full-length, Return To Abandoned, released last month via Paragon Records. On their fourth long player, the Ukrainian black metal horde yield the harsher, brooding sounds of earlier works whilst  mixing in the melancholy and atmosphere of 2008’s unsung blackened gem, Mysticism.  “Sacrament Of Buyan,” is based in Slavic mythology — Buyan is reportedly the only place where you’ll find “Koschei the Deathless” soul buried inside a needle inserted into an egg that lurks in a magical oak tree.

DRUGS OF FAITH Complete Anticipated Debut Full-Length

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

People have been asking for over four years when DRUGS OF FAITH were finally going to release a full-length record. In February, the wait will be over for those ravenous fans. The Virginia-based trio have completed their debut full-length album Corroded, and are now preparing to drop it on the masses!

DRUGS OF FAITH’s riotous attack that fans have become attached to on their previous releases — including their recent inclusion on Relapse Records’ This Comp Kills Fascists Vol. 2 compilation, and their 3″ split CD with Antigama and the infamous self-titled MCD released by Selfmadegod — is more potent than ever on Corroded, which bears 14 new tracks in under 27 minutes. Lyrically they continue to focus on socio-political themes in their anguished but empowered fashion, while musically they continue to hone their distinctive dissonant grind n’ roll attack.

Corroded Track Listing:
1. Grayed Out
2. Foreign Climates
3. Race to the End
4. Hidden Costs
5. Giveaway
6. Anemic
7. Vignette
8. No We Can’t
9. Untitled
10. Checkers
11. Sight Unseen
12. Farewell Kiss
13. Hinges
14. The Age of Reason

Set for release via the band’s label home, Poland’s Selfmadegod Records, Corroded will be available to the public in February 2011, with a final release date to be announced shortly. Recorded at Developing Nations in Baltimore with Kevin Bernsten at the helm, and mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer/Agoraphobic Nosebleed, the album also features guest contributions from Pig Destroyer’s JR Hayes on a cover of His Hero Is Gone’s “Hinges” anthem. The band also filmed a video for Corroded’s opening track “Grayed Out” with Dave Cardoso/Handshake Inc., which will be unleashed next week.

SONS OF TONATIUH: Atlanta Sludge Merchants to Embark On Fourth U.S. Tour This January

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

Atlanta sludge merchants, SONS OF TONATIUH are about to embark upon a fourth U.S. tour this January  in support of their self-titled debut full-length. The mighty Hollow Leg from Jacksonville, Florida will be joining the band for the first three shows . After that, the band will be tearing its way across through New Orleans and back around through Shreveport before winding down in Chattanooga, Tennessee with the likes of  Hot Graves, Death Before Dying, Car On Fire, Cognitive Dissonance, Currents and Black Pussy among others. “We’ll try and keep the church burning down to a minimum as we continually raise the dead of our ancestors through our witchcraft,” said the band in a collective statement. “So come out see what we’re all about and we’ll promise to deliver a good time.”

SONS OF TONATIUH were recently privileged enough to open for the legendary Eyehategod at the Earl on December 4 in Atlanta. The show went off without a hitch and SONS played a stellar set in front of a massive audience.

The band — drummer Tim Genius, guitarist/vocalist Dan Caycedo, bassist Mike Tunno and guitarist/vocalist Darby Wilson — unleashed their debut via Michigan’s Hyodro-Phonic Records earlier this year. Engineered by Jay Matheson (Kylesa, Black Tusk, Dark Castle) at the legendary Jam Room Studios in Columbia, South Carolina. The crushing eight-track long player features the artwork of Rodney Githens and is available on CD as well as blue and gold-colored wax. Hellride called the record, “…a damn anvil being dropped on your head type of heavy,” Brooklyn Vegan agreed crowning it, ”a merciless onslaught of down-tuned misanthropic riffs,” and Fuzzrock added: “A killer album of sludgy goodness, this comes recommended for those who dig Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Sourvein, and their ilk, but are burnt out on copy cat bands. These guys bring something different to the table with each song, and for that, I commend them.”

DUSTED ANGEL To Support Fu Manchu On California Tour This January

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Santa Cruz doomsters DUSTED ANGEL have been confirmed as direct support for fellow Californians and stoner rock legends Fu Manchu on their upcoming home state tour! The tour kicks off on January 13th and will see the DUSTED ANGEL opening for Fu in Silverlake, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and San Diego throughout the state, with more dates with DA-only to be scheduled around these appearances.

DUSTED ANGEL with Fu Manchu:
1/13/2011 The Satellite (formerly Spaceland) – Silverlake, CA
1/21/2011 Blue Lagoon – Santa Cruz, CA
1/22/2011 Bottom of the Hill – San Francisco, CA
1/27/2011 Casbah – San Diego, CA

DUSTED ANGEL’s debut full-length Earth Sick Mind was released on Mankind Records in November, boasting seven anthems bridging the early hardcore roots of the band’s members with a crushing stoner rock groove. They’ve slammed their way up and down the West Coast US for the past 2 years, continuing to build on their diehard fanbase, and in 2011, plan on taking their doom to the road throughout other parts of the country. Stay tuned for more live updates and tours throughout the year.

Talk to your local Earsplit PR thug to hook up with a review copy of Earth Sick Mind, to interrogate a member of DUSTED ANGEL on the upcoming tour, or with any other promo-related demands.

“…a stoner dream from start to finish, incorporating dusty, doom metal elements with a hint of California sunshine added for good measure. Dusted Angel’s doom falls in line with traditional acts like 70’s era Pentagram and Saint Vitus’ more rockin’ moments, which is to say, a fine thing indeed.” – Metal-Rules

“…no doom fan should miss out on Dusted Angel.” – Hellride Music

“…a solid band with a wealth of experience that more than pays off on Earth Sick Mind. They’ve played with Fu Manchu, Nebula, Saviours, Saint Vitus and Black Cobra, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Dusted Angel to any fan of those bands.” – The Sleeping Shaman

“…plenty of huge, infectious riffs, a thick production with a nicely audible bass, hard hitting percussion, and a gruff wail from vocalist Clifford Dinsmore all come together to produce a solid stoner metal album.” –
